Hi there!

I’m Tom, and I’m the practice manager here. My role is to ensure everything runs smoothly – from managing staff to overseeing patient care and ensuring the practice meets its financial goals. My day starts early, usually by reviewing emails, checking in with the team, and making sure the schedule is in good shape. I look at the staff rota and check that everyone is where they need to be,

As the day goes on, I’m constantly checking in with staff to make sure everything is on track. If there’s an issue – whether it’s a staffing problem, a technical glitch, or a patient-related concern – I’m the one to step in and sort it out. I also work with the team on long-term plans, whether that’s improving patient care or ensuring the practice complies with new regulations.

I’m also involved in finances – I manage the practice’s budget, oversee billing, and make sure we’re staying on top of expenses. I look at the overall financial health of the practice and make decisions to ensure we’re on track.

Most Rewarding Aspect:

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the team work together to provide the best patient care. Whether it’s ensuring everything runs on time, managing a team member’s development, or improving operational efficiency, it’s great to know I’m helping the practice thrive. The satisfaction of seeing a happy team and satisfied patients is unparalleled.

Most Challenging Aspect:

The most challenging part is balancing all the responsibilities. It’s about constantly staying on top of everything, from the staff’s performance to ensuring the finances are in check. If you’re someone who thrives in an environment that demands juggling multiple tasks, you’ll find this role fulfilling. But if you struggle with constant changes or find it hard to delegate, it can feel overwhelming at times.

Is This Role Right for You?

Are you someone who enjoys solving problems on the fly? Do you feel comfortable overseeing multiple tasks and responsibilities? Can you stay organised and keep track of everything going on, from staff to finances? If you thrive in a fast-paced, leadership-driven environment, this might be a great fit. However, if you prefer a quieter, more predictable routine, this job may not give you the balance you need.

Cheers,
Tom
