Hey!
I’m Keisha, and I’m the CQC Manager at our practice. My role revolves around ensuring the practice meets the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). My day starts with reviewing the latest CQC updates and any new regulations that could affect our practice. I also check the practice’s current compliance status to ensure we’re on top of everything.
A big part of my role is preparing for CQC inspections. I conduct internal audits to assess whether we’re meeting the necessary standards for patient care, safety, and overall practice operation. I make sure that all documentation is in place, including staff training records, health and safety policies, and patient feedback.
I also provide ongoing training to staff, keeping them informed about the latest standards and regulations. It’s essential to foster a culture of compliance across the whole practice, so I regularly work with the team to reinforce these standards.
Most Rewarding Aspect:
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I’m directly contributing to the safety and well-being of patients. When the practice passes a CQC inspection with flying colours, it’s such a sense of accomplishment for everyone involved. There’s also great satisfaction in seeing the practice continually improve, knowing that my work is helping ensure high standards of care.
Most Challenging Aspect:
The most challenging part of the job is staying on top of constantly changing regulations and ensuring the entire team is compliant. It can be tough to implement new policies and make sure everyone is on board, especially when there are so many moving parts to keep track of. It requires patience, persistence, and the ability to motivate others to stay compliant, even during busy times.
Is This Role Right for You?
Are you someone who enjoys working in an environment that requires attention to detail? Do you have a passion for maintaining high standards and ensuring quality care? This role requires someone who is methodical, organised, and able to communicate well with staff to maintain compliance. If you enjoy ensuring that rules are followed and can handle a role that’s both demanding and rewarding, then this could be a great fit. However, if you struggle with highly structured work or need constant variation in your daily tasks, it might be more challenging than you expect.
Best,
Keisha
